Elements Restaurant

Being the food lover I am, I asked many of the people I met during my 2 day Logan, Utah visit to tell me about their favorite places to eat in Logan.  I have a few reoccurring places suggested to me like Angie’s Diner, El Toro Mexican, or La Nonne for some yummy Italian food, however, there was one place that got a resounding “YES!  that place is awesome” or “I’ve always wanted to go there”  That was the exact type of answer I was looking for, so I settled on Elements Restaurant for my first and only Cache Valley food review.  Logan peeps – You should be proud.  Even though Salt Lake City has you outnumbered by about 5-1 in population.  After 45 or so food reviews in Salt Lake and only one in your town, I have to say.  Elements Restaurant was incredible, and is easily one of my new favorite places.  (No I’m not driving an hour and a half to eat there, but it was still awesome!)

Before I get to the food, the ambience of this place was very classy.  Elements features contemporary American cuisine.  I was on a business trip, and had a few per diem dollars to spend, but I didn’t want to blow through my entire budget at one place.  Right when I walked in to this place, I almost turned around and walked out.  Not because something was wrong, but because Elements just had that high-class feel to it like you would expect at a fine dining steak house somewhere.  I thought “Man this place is probably $50 dollars a plate or something”, but luckily they had a white board in the reception area advertising some specials.  Apart from daily specials at Elements they have a nightly special you can get anytime.  2 pizzas, 2 salads, and 2 drinks for only $20 bucks.  That was waaaaay affordable, and the people who told me to go to Elements were raving about the pizzas, so I decided to give it a shot.

gaufrette potato chips

These potato chips caught my eye in the appetizer section.  Since I was only spending $10 bucks for my portion of dinner, I thought I might as well try them.  BEST APPETIZER FOOD I’VE EVER HAD….ANYWHERE…PERIOD!  You know it’s a dang good appetizer if you are still eating it even after your main course comes, and you ask for a to go box for what you don’t finish, because they are so good, and the portion was so big that you couldn’t finish them all.  I don’t know what sort of machine they used to get the waffle cut potato chips so thin, but they added in the middle of the huge pile a monterrey-jack / maytag blue fondue cheese sauce and added applewood bacon to the mix, and just doused the middle of the chips with the resulting mixture.  The chips were a outstanding start to a great dinner.

yummy bread with butter pearls

wonton napa salad

For the salad I went with the napa salad, that came with spicy mustard dressing, and crispy wonton.  The person eating with me said it was the best salad she has ever tasted.  Again, the portion was huge, and it was delicious.  Our waiter ground some fresh pepper on top to complete the taste.  It was so good and so plentiful, that I had to ask for a to-go box for this item as well.

The Italian Chicken Pizza

This pizza was second to none.  It consists of ricotta cheese, mozzarella, spinach, roasted onion, and parmesan.  The chicken seemed to be prepared with a balsamic vinegar dressing.  Everything, the toppings, the cheese, the crust was amazing.  I’m not even sure that the pizzas are supposed to be the specialty on the menu, I saw lots of other food choices like steals, pasta, poultry, and seafood, however the pizza was so good and the 2 for $20 bucks special was so awesome, it would be hard for me to go away from that.

BBQ Chicken pizza

I’ve never decided on a rating system for my blog before, but if I had a rating system, Elements would get the highest rating.  What an outstanding place.  They have all the intangibles, great food, good specials, and great service.  Too bad there is only one location and that is in Logan.  Come on owners, you know you want to come down to Salt Lake City too!
