Copper Creek Pub & Grub

I know I teased several months ago about revealing where my favorite West Valley spot was.  I really was on the verge several times, but was side tracked by other restaurants that needed my attention.  Well that wait is finally over.  I’m going to go with Copper Creek Pub & Grill on this one.  It took me a while to finally muster up the courage to go inside this place.  You can’t really tell what the inside is like from the street because all the windows and front door are postered up with signs and advertisements.  In my mind I imagined just another local bar that served your standard nachos and burgers.  After my first visit I could not have been more wrong.  Not only does Copper Creek have an extensive menu of burgers, sandwiches, and salads, they have a not too shabby dinner menu as well.  Finally before I get started, let me dispel a myth.  This place IS kid and family friendly.  Yes Copper Creek has a bar area, but there are tons of T.V’s and large dining room area where you can bring the kids for some great eats and sporting atmosphere.

Inside the Copper Creek

See those high chairs in there?  Told you that kids can come inside!  The billiards table was a nice touch in the corner, but I’ll tell you what really impressed me.  Notice the wall behind the billiards table.  This is their baseball wall.  They had the entire day’s lineup of games written neatly out with a dry erase marker.  They also had UP TO DATE standings of all 6 of baseball’s divisions.  On the opposite side of this wall not pictured, they had the same thing for NFL.  I’m pretty impressed that the ownership of this place cares enough about detail, that they are updating their walls by hand on a daily basis.

Monte Cristo Sandwich

Anyone else thinking Blue Bayou at Disneyland while looking at these?  (I’m raising my hand).  Anytime I see a Monte Cristo on the menu anywhere I have to get it.  A Monte Cristo is basically a deep-fried turkey, ham, and cheese sandwich, that comes with grape jelly to dip it in.  Please don’t knock if until you have tried it.  If there is one thing we have all learned from going to state fairs it is that anything deep-fried tastes better right?  Just be careful with these little beauties because they will fill you up in a hurry.  I always think with my stomach when ordering and not with my brain, so I did the full order Monte Cristo.  I was stuffed after only 2 of the 4 sandwich quarters so keep that in mind.

The West Valley Burger

If you are a bar, you have to make sure you get at least 2 things right.  Your onion rings and your burgers.  If you get them both right and they are awesome, you just combine them like these guys do.  The West Valley Burger also has yummy BBQ sauce, and I got a little crazy on this dish and upgraded my fries to sweet potato fries.  Add some bacon and you have  yourself a nice little meal.  (Don’t worry, there is fry sauce and ranch dressing to go with each burger fry combo)

Pastrami Burger enhanced with fried cheese curds

This burger pictured above is another foodradar favorite.  First of all fried cheese is one of the all-time great foods.  I don’t care how much weight I’m gaining.  If it is cheese, and if that cheese is deep-fried, it is going down.  What makes it even better, is the fry sauce you can dip them in.  The burger has the grilled pastrami and a mustard dressing on top with all the rest of the standard burger fixings.

I’m pretty sure at this point everyone reading this post is hungry.  For all those who don’t come out to my West Valley neighborhood often, now you have a good reason to.  I just don’t want to hear about you going to Copper Creek without me.
